Exhausted from Hiking, cycling or swimming? No problem. The nature park offers the opportunity to choose from many rest areas to recuperate in some of the natural jewels of nature.

Origin source

Origin sources are perfect rest areas in the nature park. Through interlinked underground cave systems, water is fed through the Dolomite, for example in Zeutschach 90 – 120 l of water per sec bubbles out and could fill a bathtub up in 3 seconds!

Dürnberger marsh

The Durnberger marsh radiates with an idiosyncratic charm. As a witness to time it invites you to come on a journey of discovery and offers a peek into its sensitive lifestyle. Rare animals and plants are housed high, for example the flesh eating sundew. From its lookout tower one can see over the marsh and onto the landscape.

Hörfeld marsh und Dobler bog

 

Wetlands worldwide are at risk. The nature protection area of Horfeld marsh is internationally recognized, it is situated between Muhlen and Huttenberg  and is home to 500 different butterfly types and 125 bird types. Close by, in Kulm, one can find the protected wetlands of Dobler Moos

Gragger gorge with cascading waterfalls

 

The power of water is to be seen along this romantic wild stream. A path alongside the stream takes one to the cascading waterfalls which falls in various step, up past the Grasslupp lake, a paradise for fishermen and bathers , you reach the source of the waterfall – Zeutschach source.

Furtner lake

 

The „airport“ in the middle of the nature park is not only loved by fishermen and bathers, but also by birds far and wide, as an “intermediate landing strip”. Many forms of bird life can be seen along the route around the bird sanctuary  that makes up Furtner lake.

Auerling lake

Embedded in a wonderful wild forest lies, at the foot of the Grebenzen, the Auerling lake. Formes from the ice age, this natural resting place is a romantic starting place for hiking up the Grebenzen. The lake can be used for refreshing bathing (summer water temperature between 18 and 22°C) and is also loved by fishermen.

Nature reading park

Designed in the shape of a giant leaf, containing extraordinary sculptures, this spiritual park invites one in. This park contains quotes and sayings from philosophers and poets that promote contemplation about life, or just enjoy the stillness.

Opening times:
All year and all day, free entry.
